This year has been one crazy year. School really ramped up in terms difficulty and workload. At this point, I’m trying to get the rest of the semester organized so that I don’t miss anything. It’s a daunting task, but it needs to be done so I don’t lose my mind.

Sometimes it feels like all my professors seem to tack on a lot of work at the end of the year. Sometimes I wish that all that work would just disappear so that it can be summer again and I wouldn’t have to worry about it. However, it is probably has to do with the fact that I think of everything I have to do all at once, and it feels as if I don’t have time for anything except school work.

With a lot to do in the next few weeks, here’s how I’m staying sane for the rest of this semester.

There’s a lot going on, a lot that you probably need to get done, and it all just seems to pile up and never go away. It’s like an annoying gnat flying around your head. You keep swatting at it, but it magically seems to survive every time you hit it. Anyway, I digress. The key to keeping up with your work is taking it a day at a time.

I used to be really bad at this. I would think about all the stuff I have to do every day and just stress about it, sometimes to the point where it would affect my work. I still do that somewhat, but not nearly as much. Doing your work day by day and just putting in the needed amount of work to get something done will save you a lot of frustration and stress these next couple of weeks.

This applies to all students actually, in college or not. In crunch time, you do your best work when you aren’t stressing or thinking about other things. Give each item on your to do list an allotted amount of time and work on only that. It will save you many headaches and multi-hour trips to the library. Some of your work can wait, so there’s no sense in trying to worry about that now.

All in all, don’t stress. Your work will eventually get done if you just keep going.
