Why are changes so hard to deal with? Just think, has there ever been a time in your life where the thought of doing something you have never done before frightened you? It could also be exciting. But why do we have all the emotion? Change happens all the time, so why do we treat it like it’s such a big deal? And why am I asking so many questions?
But really, I graduated from high school and was so scared of the move to college. Now I am about ready to graduate college, and I am not as terrified to leave because I have done quiet a few things to prepare for the next big step.
I have been trained in the field I want to pursue in life. I have been able to perform, direct and design shows since entering college. I was also fortunate to perform internationally at the Scotland Fringe Festival. I have been on the radio as a DJ for WERG. I helped produce and anchor a sports show. I have been a part of this creative team that makes up Edge. I was able to obtain internships with the Erie Playhouse and Lorei Portraits. I found a wonderful support group that made me confident enough to audition and work for Blue Ridge Dinner Theater last summer. I am moving to Philadelphia in the fall to live with one of my best friends here at Gannon.
I am very glad I came to Gannon. And I will admit it was not one of my top choices when I started my senior year of high school, but now I couldn’t imagine having gone anywhere else. Change is a scary, but it’s a process of going up. And who wants a life that is stagnant? Not me.
