An Open Letter to My Heroes at Gannon

First, I have to mention that even though I do not say it often, I love you guys! You make my day so much brighter and weirder. And most importantly, you make Gannon home. From making tea to screeching velociraptor noises at each other from across the room, I would never change us for the world. When I am down you, cheer me up with memes and when I want to give up, you encourage me. You are the best people I know. So I want you to know a few things, beginning with the fact that I will never take you for granted. Secondly, I will always be there for you, no matter what. And thirdly, I know you all are going to do great things in life, even if you do not always believe so. I know you all can achieve whatever you three set your mind to. Trust me; I am never wrong when it comes to these things.

Now that I got that off my chest, I can get to what I really want to tell you. You three make Gannon home. It’s not the professors, the comfy couches in Palumbo or even the pasta bar at Knights Cove. It’s all three of you. It is the nights we dance around our living room listening to Taylor Swift, the days we all just plop on the couch and sit for hours doing absolutely nothing because we’re all just too tired. Home is looking at my phone after class and seeing that I was tagged in another meme by one of you. Home is having competitions to see who can fit the most Cheetos into their mouth.

I also want to thank you three. You have seen my weird side and you still love me (I don’t know why, but I am just going to roll with it). I need you to know that our “fam squad” as you all coined us is genuinely wonderful. Not everyone has three best friends and the fact that I got so lucky is mind-blowing. You are each my hero, all of you. And I could not ask for better heroes. You three are my favorite people and I want to thank each of you for being my squad fam. You all deserve the world and I cannot wait until we are all old and racing down the halls of the retirement home in our wheelchairs and generally causing as much mayhem as possible. Cheers, guys!

Love,

Bin
